Director’s commentary
Devils own luck- Claire Bowman
1.
The first shot
you see is an establishing long shot, which sets the scene of the film, and
this introduces the audience to the main protagonist.
2.
There is
non-diajectic music to tell the audience that there is nothing serious
happening because the music is very calm.
3.
Whilst I was
putting in the titles I had to use a wireframe to allow me to move the text
around the screen and I used the overly boundaries to make sure the title were
on screen.
4.
The music then dies down and you hear diajectic
sound of the two girls talking to each other. The music then comes back in but
is tenser and tells the audience that something is going to happen.
5.
Whilst making the
titles I had to make sure that the titles were in the right place so that they
was not in the way of the scene.

Also whilst
making the titles I made sure that the colour was visible to the audience, I
mad sure that the font was clear to read and that the size was big enough.
7.
I also had to use
the opacity tool to make the titles fade in and out. By using this tool it made
my film took more professional and that the titles were on screen to be read
without difficultly.
8.
In my film
opening you see an over the shoulder shot of the main protagonist on the phone.
This brings the audience closer to the character as you see what she is seeing.
9.
I research the
order of my titles and made sure they was in the right order. By doing this I
made sure the directors came back on at the end of the film opening so that the
audience remember the name of the director.
