Focus group feedback into brand image

I wrote 4 questions for my group feedback so i could get a better understanding of what the group thought of my video and what they interpreted about my artist and her brand identity.
I was happy with the feedback it was what I expected to hear and so I will continue with this brand image moving towards my brand image and magazine advert.

Re filming

Once I has booked the camera out with miss excel i planned what shots I was going to take for my filler shots. I decided I needed a lot more scenery shots so the genre would look right. I went out to fields and took long shots of tress and landscape. I also took shots of a flower being pulled apart to represent being disconnected.

Editing

Now that I have my main footage I can start to put clips onto final cut express. Because I used a ad card I can't just upload my clips straight onto final cut express I had to go onto iMovie and upload it onto there first once I have saved it as an iMovie project. Once I did this I then found out that I did not have a copy of the song to start editing because it was on a YouTube clip on Florence's website. Before I could start editing I had to ask my media teacher to extract this clip of the YouTube clip and make it into a mp3 file. This is what happened in my first chance to edit. I then went back to edit once the song had been extracted and put this onto final cut express. I then put one of the version a of Florence singing the whole way through onto one line. Once I had out this on in matched it up with the audio using markers and lip synced it. I then could start to cut up the clips so I could create a story to my music video but I didn't realise how many filler shots u was going to need and run out very quickly so I decided to re film so in booked the camera out and planned out the shot I was going to re film.

Filming

I organised my first filming session with Florence so we could try and film all of the main parts to my music video which she needed to be in and then I could go away and film the filler shots I needed without Florence being in them. The first time I filmed with Florence I had decided I was going to get her singing the song the whole way through in 4 different locations. The first location was Florence sitting on a bench alone on a cold windy day just signing to the camera.  I asked her to wear very plain natural clothes so that she matched my stars image. I then got Florence to sing in a small room with a guitar and made her play the guitar and sing at the same time because the song had a guitar in which she was playing. I then had Florence sing the song outside against a brick wall and my final location was Florence sitting on a step with the guitar singing by herself. After I had these 4 shots I then did a close up of the guitar being played. I also did some filler shots of Florence sitting by herself and walking alone by herself. This was the first time I filmed.

lip syncing tutorial

Before i started my filming and editing I did a lip syncing tutorial so I could learn to lip sync the right way before doing it on my music video. In this tutorial I learnt where to put the music onto final cut express and then where to put the clip that had been filmed. We learnt to put these in certain places otherwise the audio would not work properly.
After we put the clips and the audio onto the time line we then learnt how to use the makers. The markers where very useful when I started to try and lip sync. Instead of just guessing if the words match the clip you could make a specific point on the audio for example the first big beat of the song or the first word sung of the song and the listen to the audio on the clip and put a marker where the same word is. By doing this I could then move the clip so the markers were in line and then if you have done it right the clip should be lip synced. This was a very good technique to use when it came to lip syncing my own music video. It was very useful to make the lip syncing exact and look professional.
