pride and prejudice opening

Pride and Prejudice opening
Pride and Prejudice is a romantic drama and is directed by Joe Write in 2005.

The first thing you hear in is a bird singing, this makes the audience think that its in either a country side or a garden somewhere calm and peaceful. The first shot is an establishing shot of a countryside. This tells the audience that it is going to be set in the countryside. You then hear the first not of the piano the minute the sun comes up. This has been done so that the piano starts playing as soon as you first see the sun,it was very precise. As the music builds up the dawn then breaks. This also creates a quite positive atmosphere. The first shit of a character is Elizabeth Bennett, this introduces her as the main female character. By the first shot of the main character reading a book you can see that she is very wealthy and well educated to be reading. The large house also indicated wealth.

Titanic Opening

The Titanic
The first shots in titanic is in black and white. This shows the audience that this is from the olden days and the film is going to be something about the past. There is also the titanic music playing in the background. This music is very sad and shows the audience that the film is going to sad.
You then see the water and the film title 'TITANIC' in big white letters. You then see submarines coming down into the water looking for something. This tells the audience that the submarines are looking for something on the Titanic. This is done so the audience want to watch and see what they are looking for.

notebook opening

The Notebook

In the opening of the notebook there is music playing throughout. The music is being played on a piano and its very soft gentle music.
The first shot is of a lake with the sun coming up. There is someone rowing on the lake.
The second shot is of the rower but closer, it’s more of a mid shot and then the shot goes to a close up of the rower rowing through the water
It then cuts to a long shot of the lake again
You then see seagulls flying towards a big white house. The house establishes where the film is going to take place
You then see a women looking out onto the lake. This is the first shot you seen of one of the main character. This introduces the main character to the audience. By seeing a shot of her face the audience becomes familiar with the character

Kill bill

The opening of kill bill is very graphical. The first thing you see if a women in her editing dress lying on the floor. By the director doing this shot fist you want to know why she is lying on the floor and why has she been beaten up. The music at the start is very jolly music and it’s juxtaposition to what is happening in the scene.
There is two close ups in the scene and Tarantino has done this so you become familiar with the main characters.
The use of the gunshot and the women panting gives the scene tension and makes the audience feel more engaged in the film and wanting to know what happened next.

reshooting

Mia and I have decided to re shoot our film opening. We have decided to do this because some of the footage we have reordered is blurry and the camera is moving around a lot and it does not look very good. We are going to shoot the same thing but improve on our camera skills before hand and make sure we reshoot properly and get all the shots we need.
